Lip augmentation and lip enhancement, through the use of various dermal fillers, injectables, fat grafting, or lip augmentation surgery, have now made it possible.
A variety of dermal fillers and injectables are currently available at Mansfield Cosmetic Surgery Center for lip augmentation and lip enhancement. Dr. Michael Thornton prefers to use hyaluronic acid-based injectables such as Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm®, as these products are free from animal proteins and minimize the risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. A second option is the placement of your own autologous fat in the lips, through a technique called fat transfer and fat grafting.
With the exception of fat grafting, Dr. Michael Thornton performs all lip augmentation procedures in the office. The results are immediate and generally last 6 months or longer depending on the injectable administered. At your request, a "dental block" anesthesia may be used to minimize discomfort. During your initial consultation with Dr. Michael Thornton, it is important to share your expectations and desired outcomes prior to lip augmentation, as the treatment options will be influenced by your personal expectations.
