Are you a Tummy Tuck candidate?
The majority of our patients seeking a tummy tuck procedure do so for three major reasons: 1) To eliminate lower abdominal stretch marks, 2) To eliminate lower abdominal loose and saggy skin, and 3) To correct abdominal muscle weakness or separation (diastasis).
For most patients who have moderate muscle separation and who also have large amounts of loose abdominal skin, a standard abdominoplasty procedure is usually performed. During a standard abdominoplasty procedure, the excess skin below your belly button is removed and your abdominal muscles are tightened along the mid-line.
In contrast, patients with minimal loose skin, stretch marks, and abdominal wall separation may benefit from a “mini” tummy tuck instead. During a mini tummy tuck, the surgical scar is smaller and only the muscles below the belly button are tightened. The recovery time is much shorter as compared to a traditional tummy tuck…that’s what makes the mini tummy tuck so “mini”, because it is basically smaller version.
