Dermapen with Platelet Rich Plasma – PRP

Dermapen3

The Dermapen, an FDA-approved device, is the newest and most advanced model of the Dermapen micro-needling system.  The Dermapen 3 replaced the original Dermapen platform and is considered the “gold-standard” of micro needle technology.  Since November 2015, Dr. Thornton upgraded to the Dermapen 3 platform and is currently offering this procedure to his interested clients.

Demapen3 Micro Needle System

The Dermapen is cutting-edge micro-needling technology used for skin rejuvenation, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, improvement in abnormal pigmentation and the treatment of facial acne scars, and surgical scars.  It was awarded “First Place” as the Best Professional Skin Rejuvenation Device at the Aesthetic Show.  Watch the video below of the Dermapen in action.

Dermapen is a unique hand-held device that uses an automatic spring-loaded disposable needle with a vibrating stamp-like motion that creates tiny micro-needle holes in your skin.  This procedure naturally stimulates the production of collagen with minimal epidermal damage or trauma.  The Dermapen 3 technology is as effective as fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing but provides a shorter recovery period without thermal healing caused by laser skin resurfacing.  Most importantly, the use of a  disposable one-time needle cartridge means no risk for cross-contamination to ensure the highest in sterility and patient safety.

Dermapen has an additional advantage by acting as a “dermal infusion device” by topically delivering medical-grade cosmeceuticals directly into the dermis through micro channels to accelerate the healing process and promote collagen development.  One such product we use is platelet rich plasma or PRP that is separated from your own blood.  Our office uses the FDA-approved Eclipse PRP HC System to provide you with superior quality PRP.

The Dermapen | PRP facial resurfacing treatment is an in-office procedure that takes 30 to 60 minutes to complete, depending upon the area(s) treated along with the preparation of platelet rich plasma.  To minimize discomfort, we apply a topical numbing gel prior to the procedure and your post procedure downtime lasts a few short days.

We offer single treatments or package specials with or without the addition of platelet rich plasma (PRP).  You will see spectacular results from one single treatment but the best results will be obtained from our multi-procedure packages.  We also offer an “Acne Scar Package” that combine one session of PRP injections directly into the acne scars with three Dermapen 3 treatments over 6 weeks.  Good for all skin types.
