Brow Lift & Forehead Lift
Serving clients near Mansfield, Arlington, Fort Worth & Dallas, Texas
Brow lift or forehead lift is facial plastic surgery that improves the upper 1/3 of the face. A brow lift is performed alone or in combination with an upper blepharoplasty for complete peri-orbital facial rejuvenation to correct droopy eyebows and remove excess eyelid skin. Varying degrees of eyebrow ptosis (droopy) and forehead wrinkles can be corrected using different techniques of brow lift surgery. A brow lift can be performed in one of several ways from subcutaneous trichophytic brow lift, temporal brow lift, or full coronal brow lift. More recently, endoscopic brow lift has become popularized due to advancements in minimally invasive endoscopic cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Michael L. Thornton uses traditional yet modern techniques in brow lift surgery and concealing your incisions within or behind the hairline. Most patients benefit from complete upper facial rejuvenation, whereby multiple facial plastic surgery procedures are performed simultaneously during a brow lift including an upper blepharoplasty and Co2 laser skin resurfacing. The ultimate goal is to reposition the arch of your eyebrow to a more youthful and feminine height.
What can I expect during my brow lift consultation?
During your brow lift consultation, you will meet privately and exclusively with Dr. Michael Thornton where you will collectively share in the decision making process about your personal needs, desires, and expectations. Although well qualified, we choose not use patient coordinators, nurse practitioners, or physicians assistants to perform your consultation. Dr. Thornton will complete a thorough medical history and perform a careful examination, including the identification of eyebrow ptosis, brow position, laxity of the forehead, lines and wrinkles, hair line, and eyelid ptosis.
Where will my brow lift surgery take place?
Under special circumstances a brow lift procedure may be performed in our private operating room as an outpatient procedure with local anesthesia and oral sedation. However, if more complex facial plastic surgery procedures are required, your surgery may be performed at Baylor Surgicare at Mansfield, a AAAHC certified out-patient surgery center, located in Mansfield, Texas. Early recovery is usually complete within 5 to 7 days, though mild swelling may last 6 to 8 weeks.
